The Screen Drill is good for staying inside the ball while simultaneously practicing hitting inside pitches.
Setup
This drill can be done with a front toss or with a tee. Setup a screen on the outside 1/3rd of home plate. Place the tee on the inside 1/3rd of home plate. The player should be one bats length away from the screen.
Directions
- Get into hitting position and fire, driving the ball to center.
- The player will be unable to cast the barrel of the bat so they should focus on keeping the hands close to the body.
- Stay inside the ball when hitting.
