The Shuffle Posture Drill is a great drill for maintaining good posture through a throw.
Setup
This drill does not require a ball to perform. It can be done solo with no equipment because it focuses on maintaining a good throwing posture through the motion of throwing.
Drill Instructions
- The player should begin in a strong and athletic position.
- The throwing arm should be raised with the shoulder and upper arm in a straight line. The arm will be perpendicular to the ground.
- The player should then shuffle their feet forward, make a throwing motion, and quickly turn around. A strong, athletic posture should be maintained throughout the move. Only the hand and lower arm should be moving. The elbow and shoulder should remain in the same position.
- Repeat the shuffle, throw and turn on the other side.
