To do the Bouncers Catcher Drill the catcher is going to squat in normal receiving position. Full equipment is not required to complete this drill.
The upper thigh should be parallel to the ground to be in proper position. The catcher should position their arms so that they are ready to catch but they should remain relaxed. The catcher should never hyperextend the elbow.
The coach or partner should stand 10-15 feet in front of the catcher. The coach is going to bounce balls on the ground to the catcher.
The catcher should receive the ball near their chest, again focusing on not hyperextending the elbow. Make sure that the catcher remains soft and relaxed. The catcher can throw the ball back to the coach after the catch.
This drill can be done alone using a wall by bouncing the ball off the wall to yourself.
