The Soft to Hard Focus BP Drill allows batters to focus when necessary by keeping a soft focus on the pitcher until he begins his pitch.
Setup
This move can be done immediately after the Focal Point Method for BP.
Directions
- The batter should remain relaxed and looking towards the pitcher but not really focusing on anything specific. Think of this as keeping a soft focus in the general direction of the mound.
- Once the pitcher begins their movement, the batter should go into a hard focus. Placing their attention at the pitcher’s release point to better track the ball.
