The Janitor Throw Pitching Drill was designed to help clean up the lower half of the body when pitching. The works by constraining the lower body.
Setup
The player should get setup with the back foot firmly planted on the ground. The player will then take their front foot and turn to point the opposite direction of their target with the hell of the front foot near the toe of the front foot.
Drill Instructions
- The player is going to begin the throw by lifting the lead foot.
- From there, the player should make the pitch.
Coaching Tips
Make sure that the player is keeping the back leg in a straight line. The ankle and calf should be lined up. For an advanced version of this drill, the player can turn their head and shoulders away from the target before making the throw.
