The Hip Transition Pitching Drill is a good drill for learning and practicing how to finish out a pitch. This is a great drill for isolating the upper body and getting the rotator cuff warmed up.
Setup
The player will be in an open position with the legs in a split stance. The chest will be facing the target. The throwing arm should be raised and ready to throw.
Drill Instructions
- Begin rocking the arm nice and slow. The body may rock slightly back and forth as well.
- The rotator cuff should begin warming up.
- When ready, release the ball and finish out the pitch.
Coaching Tips
This move should be nice and relaxed. The body should stay centered. This move works great as an arm warm-up drill.
