The Hip Transition Pitching Drill is a good drill for learning and practicing how to finish out a pitch. This is a great drill for isolating the upper body and getting the rotator cuff warmed up.
The player will be in an open position with the legs in a split stance. The chest will be facing the target. The throwing arm should be raised and ready to throw.
- Begin rocking the arm nice and slow. The body may rock slightly back and forth as well.
- The rotator cuff should begin warming up.
- When ready, release the ball and finish out the pitch.
This move should be nice and relaxed. The body should stay centered. This move works great as an arm warm-up drill.
